MEMBERSHIP

Requirements

Church of South India of North American Congregations with a minimum of 20 subscribing members who accept the faith, doctrine and discipline of the CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese and conduct the service of Eucharist according to the CSI Liturgy shall become members of the UCMC.
Congregations that meet the criteria A, except for the minimum number of subscribing members may become associate members in the UCMC.
The member Congregations of the UCMC shall be under the charge and supervision of a Presbyter appointed by the Bishop of the Madhya Kerala Diocese

Rights and Duties.

The Congregations shall be represented at the Board of Directors by the Presbyter-in-charge (who is appointed by the Madhya Kerala Diocesan Bishop) and/or elected officials from each congregation.

B. The Congregations shall be represented at the General Body of the UCMC by the Presbyter-in-charge, who is appointed by the Madhya Kerala Diocesan Bishop, and lay members elected by the general body.

C. The number of representatives to the General Body of the UCMC shall be determined by the number of subscribing members (supported by a list of the subscribed members) from each congregation as follows:

20 to 50	2 (Presbyter-in-charge and 1 Lay member)
51 to 100	3 (Presbyter-in-charge and 2 Lay members)
101 to 150	4 (Presbyter-in-charge and 3 Lay members)
150 and above	5 (Presbyter-in-Charge a 4 Lay members)

An Associate member Congregation may send one representative to the UCMC General Body meeting.
The Vice-President of the UCMC in consultation with the Executive Committee shall nominate a youth and a woman if they are not represented.
Lay UCMC members are elected for two years during the general body meeting of the Congregation. Each representative shall have one vote in the UCMC.
The Congregations are expected to contribute to the financial needs of the UCMC through subscription and other contribution.
The Congregations are expected to contribute an annual subscription of $75 per representative or any other amount determined by the General Body of the UCMC.
